How it works ↓

Discover the people you've crossed paths with

  • Create your profile

Sign in with Apple or Google, choose a username, and enable location sharing if you want eligible crossings.

  • Explore shared places

See approximate places where your path overlapped with another Orbit user. Photo dates and locations can also reveal older memories.

  • Connect with a wave

When both people wave, you become mutual connections and can choose to share eligible photo memories.

  • Explore Gallery Map

Browse memories using the dates and locations of photos you allow Orbit to access. Your photo library is not uploaded automatically.

  • Share a song

Send a song from Apple Music through the Share Sheet. Compatible shares with a nearby time and location can become a crossing.

Photos are uploaded when you choose to publish or send them. Orbit processes songs you send through the Share Sheet, not your automatic listening history.

Frequently asked questions

The essentials on crossings, permissions and sharing.

Support →
How does Orbit find crossings?

With permission, Orbit uses occasional iOS visit and location-change events to match approximate areas and times. A crossing is not proof that two people met.

Does Orbit use continuous GPS?

No. Orbit uses Apple's visit and significant-location-change services. You can turn location sharing off in Orbit or iOS Settings.

Are photos and music shared automatically?

No. Photos are uploaded when you choose to publish or send them. Orbit processes songs you send through the Share Sheet, not your automatic listening history.

Which devices are supported?

Orbit is designed for iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Account and social features require an internet connection and relevant permissions.
